Bassi is a wildlife Sanctuary located in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan. The wildlife sanctuary was first opened in 1988 for civilians. Bassi is also a city, a distance about 40 km from the main city of Chittorgarh. It covered a total area of 138.69 sq. Km. with beautiful lakes, Orai & Bassi Dam. This wildlife sanctuary is the best place for a photoshoot in Chittorgarh and also for a picnic with your family & buddies. It also has monuments and these monuments add destination points in the explorer’s diary.


Because of River around the Bassi wildlife sanctuary, it has amazing vegetation and it looks too green. Plants like Arjun tree, Senegalia Senegal (Khair), Babool, Gulmohar, Neem, and many more trees are everywhere in this sanctuary.


Bassi Sanctuary is becoming more beautiful with wild animals. It has huge varieties of wild animals. Like Leopard, Small Indian Civet, Ratel, Porcupine, Mangoose, Jungle Cats, Jackal, Indian Hare, Sambhar Deer, Langoor, Hyena, Desert Fox, Desert Cat, Common Palm Civet, Cheetal, Blue Bull(Nilgai), and Rusty Spotted Cat.

Best Time to Visit Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary of Chittorgarh

According to my personal experience, you should visit here in the rainy season and another option came in winter. It means September to February is the ideal time to explore Bassi Sanctuary.
