Pink city Jaipur is the capital of the Rajasthan state. Jaipur city was founded in 1727 by Prince Jai Singh II. The total number of Jaipur area is approx 466 Km² (180 sq mile).
Pink City is divided into nine sections or blocks, two of them assigned for Palaces and government buildings. The rest of the seven blocks are allotted to the local public. The best parts of the pink city are monuments that are part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

 ○ Why Jaipur is known as the Pink city of India?

In Rajasthan, the pink color stands for hospitality. In the year 1876, Albert Edward Prince of Wales & Queen Victoria gets a tour of India. When they come to Jaipur to meet the King of Jaipur. King of Jaipur was a very kindhearted person. With an order of Maharaja Ram Singh, Jaipur city was held in pink color for denotes the color of hospitality.

It was formed as tradition and residents were sincerely followed for maintaining a pink color. On 6th February 1876, Albert Hall Museum dedicated to the Prince of Wales as a present gift from the Maharaja of Pink city.

One more reason for, why people call Jaipur as the pink city?

Because In the Pink city of Rajasthan, many forts-palaces and buildings are built with red Sandstone. They look like shades of pink color. Jal Mahal is the water palace in the center of the Maan Sagar lake on Delhi-Jaipur highway 4km(2.5mile) from the Pink city.  it’s an amazing place for a photoholic person.

Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar monument is the world’s largest stone sundial and also a part of the UNESCO world heritage site. It has 19 instruments to measure time, eclipse, tracking, altitudes, and ephemerides. Build during the 1727-1733 period.

The City Palace

The City Palace is the heart of Jaipur city and the home of the Jaipur royal family. This palace was the seat of Maharajas. Now it is one of the best tourist places in the City. Stay at Fort is available.

Amer Fort

This Fort was originally built by Meena(Matsya tribe). Fort has a mirror palace, Jai Mandir, Sukh Niwas, and a hill of eagles are the best part of this fort. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
