Rajasthan is much more than deserts and forts. If we talk about jungle safari, Ranthambore is one of the biggest National Wildlife Sanctuary in North India. It is located about 130 Km away from Capital city Jaipur. It offers some of the finest opportunities for sighting the magnificent tigers in the world, another then this Ranthambore is also famous for its ancient fort and it was built in 10th Century by Matsya (Meena) Clan.

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve is known for its large tiger population and it was declared as tiger reserve in 1973 AD. This national park is enriched with different water gateways like Kachida Valley, Surwal Lake.  Land is very famous for tourism places and we can capture the real beauty of Ranthambore with different kinds of animals and vegetation, which can be seen during jungle safari.

The most amazing part of this national park is that it provides two types of safaris: jeep and canter safaris which are 6 and 20 seaters. There are around 10 safari zones and they are well maintained by State Forest Department. You can book any canter according to your choice. Once you are done with your bookings they will give you slots like morning or evening. They will pick you from given location or from a particular stand.

Every zone has its own specific qualities which are famous for one or another animal and bird.
Each zone is closed with gates once you’ll enter the zone you’ll get to see different types of birds, animals, lake, etc. You can take unlimited pictures but can’t go outside the jeep and it’s for your safety as we know it’s quite dangerous and is totally against the forest guidelines.

Tourism zone no.3 and 4 are two of the famous zones. Zone 3 has the most beautiful lakes which are Padam Talab, Rajbagh Talab, and Malik Talab.

You can choose any zone according to our choice. Each zone has been ruled by various Tigers and they protect their territory. You can easily see their tiger’s pugmarks, their caves, birds nest, etc. The tigers are spotted in their territory while resting, following their prey, walking, or cooling in the water bodies in the summer or basking in the sun in winter.

You should always carry caps and hats while traveling in summer and woolen clothes in winter’s days.

Ranthambore is famous a tigress named “machli” and It is believed that the tigress was former Ranthambore’s queen who was famous for its beauty, attitude, and power and was the most photographed tigress in the world.

Kota Airport is the Nearest Airport to reach Ranthambore and it is located about 146 Km from the airport. Another option is Jaipur International Airport and it is located approx. 180 km from this sanctuary.

By Railway

Sawai Madhopur Junction is the closest railway station and it is located about 12 km from tiger reserve. Another option is Kota Junction and it is located about 137 km from here.

By Roadway

Ranthambore is located on NH 552, & RJ SH 30. Taxies, Buses, & Trains are always available from every city in Rajasthan. You can take rental car or bike from Sawai Madhopur city to explore this land in your own way.
